Weapon Sets in Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) are comprised of Weapons and Weapons/Jewelry only, and do not have Armor pieces associated with them. They are found in both free and paid content, but are usually found in Arenas, PVP or in the Asylum Sanctorium Trial. Some of the newer Weapon Sets have both "normal" and "perfected" versions, with the latter having a more powerful bonus, or in the case of Blackrose Prison Weapons, an additional bonus.
Weapon Sets
Weapon Sets are found primarily in Arenas, but they can also be found in the Asylum Sanctorium Trial. Newer Weapon Sets have both a normal and "perfected" version, with the latter being a better version. Perfected versions can only be obtained by completing the corresponding activity on Veteran difficulty. Blackrose Prison Perfected Weapons are the first to feature 2 bonuses as of the Murkmire Update.
Curated Item Set Drop System
The Curated Item Set Drop System is a new internal mechanic that makes it easier for players to complete their Item Set Collection. With the vast amounts of Set Items available in ESO, this system aims to make engaging in specific content for specific rewards more rewarding the more times it is completed. The Curated Item Set Drop System will launch as a Base Game update, part of Update 32 (Patch 7.2.0) meaning it will be available to all players, irrespective of DLC ownership. The system is currently live on the PTS on PC and Mac.
The Curated Item Set Drop system makes it so that most Bosses that reward Set Items will preferentially drop Set pieces that you do not already own. This system will affect the following activities:
- Delve Bosses
- Public Dungeon Bosses
- Group Dungeon Bosses
- Trial Bosses
- Reward chests from Arenas and Incursions (Dolmens,World Bosses, etc.)
Notably, Set Items that drop from treasure chests (whether overland or through maps), containers (coffers) and non-boss Monsters will not be curated.
If there is a particular Set Item that drops from a certain activity's Boss that you do not have, you will have an increasingly better chance to get it each time you run that activity and defeat that Boss. Note that this system does not change a Boss' loot tables. If a Boss only drops the Shoulder and Leg pieces of a given Set for example, it cannot and will not drop other pieces. The system simply makes it more likely for you to get the pieces you are still missing. While the system is in effect for a given Boss, you will not receive duplicate drops of items you already own. However, once you have collected all available Set Pieces that drop from that Boss, the loot table will revert to the original randomized selection as before. This system should alleviate some of the RNG frustration with loot drops and get you closer to completing your set collection.
An Item Set Collection Summary Page has also been added to the Item Set Collections UI ("Sticker Book") to compliment the curation system. This Summary contains progress bars for every category of Sets which helps guide players to finding pieces they are still missing.
Blackrose Prison Sets
These Weapons Sets are obtained by completing Blackrose Prison, which was added with the Murkmire DLC. Normal versions are obtained by finishing it on Normal difficulty, while "Perfected" versions are acquired by completing it on Veteran. Drops are random, so you might have to complete it several times until you get the exact weapon you want.

Each element ticks once over the duration. The damage scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage. (Perfected) Grants up to 1190 Offensive Penetration. |

Asylum Sanctorium Sets
These Weapons Sets are obtained by completing Asylum Sanctorium Trial, which was added with the Clockwork DLC. Normal versions are obtained by finishing it on Normal difficulty, while "Perfected" versions are acquired by completing it on Veteran. Drops are random, so you might have to complete it several times until you get the exact weapon you want.

These Weapons Sets are obtained by completing Maelstrom Arena, which was added with the Orsinium DLC. These weapons are acquired by completing it on Veteran, and drops are random, so you might have to complete it several times until you get the exact weapon you want.

These Weapons Sets are obtained by completing Dragonstar Arena, which is part of One Tamriel (the base game). These weapons are acquired by completing it on Veteran, and drops are random, so you might have to complete it several times until you get the exact weapon you want.

These 3 Sets are obtained by doing the random daily dungeon from the Activity Finder. Upon completing the Dungeon, you will be rewarded a random weapon or jewelry from one of these 3 Sets. Veteran rewards an Epic version, while Normal awards a Superior version. This can only be completed once per day.
