Witches Festival Information
The grim spectacle of the Witches Festival has once again returned to haunt the people of Tamriel. Take part in this chilling celebration to earn bonus XP and unique rewards. It's also your first opportunity to earn Event Tickets and Indrik Feathers – don't miss out!
Plunder Skulls
This bucket contains items that many witches and warlocks would find of interest.
Plunder Skulls contains up to 5 samples of Witches Festival Provisioning ingredients and 1-3 samples of Amber Marble. They can also contain unique recipes, Hollowjack motif pages, or rare hats. All of these items can be traded with other players, including the collectible hats. The Provisioning items available include Guts, Worms, Crawlers, and Spider Eggs.
Plunder Skulls can be earned from the following:
- Bosses in Delves, Group Delves, Public Dungeons (including Group Event bosses), Group Dungeons, Trials, Overland and Arenas
- Dark Fissures
- Dolmens
Plunder Skull drops have a 3-minute cooldown timer, meaning that if you will only get a maximum of one skull every 3 minutes regardless of how many bosses you kill. This timer resets when you kill a boss enemy, not when you loot them.
Dremora Plunder Skulls
This Dremora-skull bucket contains some of the secrets of the Dremora Crafting Motif, as well as items of sinister interest to witches and warlocks. It can be earned only once a day.
Dremora Plunder Skulls are special containers that will be introduced in the 2018 Witches Festival. There are seven different types that can be obtained from various bosses. Each skull is guaranteed to contain a chapter from Crafting Motif 63: Dremora book. Dremora Plunder Skulls of each type can be earned only once a day per account. See below for a full list.

Nascent Indrik Mount
The Witches Festival 2018 is the first opportunity for players to begin working towards obtaining the Nascent Indrik mount. Four event-specific feathers are required to summon the Nascent Indrik mount, the first of which can be obtained during the Witches Festival.
The Witches Festival indrik feather can be purchased with ten "Event Tickets", which players can acquire from their first Dremora Plunder Skull. One Event Ticket drops per day. Once ten tickets have been collected, they can be brought to The Impresario (located in Daggerfall, Davon's Watch, and Vulkhel Guard) to purchase the Witches Festival indrik feather.
The remaining three feathers will be obtainable from events later the year:
- Clockwork City Celebration Event: November 15 - 26
- Undaunted Celebration Event: November 29 - December 5
- New Life Festival December 13 - January 2
BECOME A MONSTER & EARN BONUS XP
The Witches Festival kicks off at 10:00AM EDT on Thursday, October 18 and will run until 10:00AM EDT, Thursday, November 1. During this spoopy event, you can enjoy a 100% XP buff, become an undead monster, and acquire a creepy collection of Witches Festival-themed items. In addition to this, we're also introducing the brand-new Dremora Plunder Skulls, containing a never-before-seen Motif!
Follow the steps below to take part in this frightful festival:
- Navigate to the Holiday section of the Crown Store to acquire the “Crow Caller" item.
- Complete the quest “The Witchmother's Bargain" to receive the “Witchmother's Whistle" memento.
- If you completed the quest in previous events, you don't need to acquire the Crow Caller or complete the quest again, and you can use the whistle already found in your Collections menu.
- Use the whistle to summon the “Witchmother's Cauldron" and grant you and your party a two-hour 100% XP buff that stacks with all other XP bonuses.
- Use the Witchmother's Cauldron to transform your character into one of the undead. Don't worry—this isn't permanent!
- Note that you do not have to use the Witchmother's Cauldron in order to gain the XP buff.
ACQUIRE GHOULISH GOODIES
Should you take part in this year's festivities, you can earn some amazing Witches Festival-themed loot, and throughout the event, all boss monsters will drop Plunder Skull containers. Note that you don't need to have the XP buff or polymorph active to acquire these unique rewards, but it can't hurt!
Plunder Skull containers have a chance to contain the following spooky items:

In addition to regular Plunder Skulls, during the event, you can also acquire the brand-new Dremora Plunder Skulls. These devilish new rewards will be the first Plunder Skull drop you receive for each type of boss each day. A Dremora Plunder Skull contains all the same items found in a regular Plunder Skull, but it is also guaranteed to have a new Dremora Motif page based on the type of boss you defeated.
- Final Arena Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Bows and Legs
- Dark Anchor and Geyser Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Daggers and Gloves
- Delve Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Staves and Belts
- Final Dungeon Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Helmets and Maces
- Public Dungeon and Quest Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Shields and Boots
- Final Trial Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Swords and Chests
- World Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Shoulders and Axes
You can defeat each individual type of boss and be guaranteed a Dremora Plunder Skull once per day, meaning you can acquire up to seven each day. Should you defeat the same type of boss again after already receiving your Dremora Plunder Skull, you'll receive a regular Plunder Skull instead. Dremora Motif pages can be traded, so get ready to take on Tamriel's monsters!
GET YOUR EVENT TICKETS!
The Witches Festival is also your first opportunity to acquire Event Tickets! You can acquire one Event Ticket per day when you acquire your first Dremora Plunder Skull. Pick up 10 tickets and bring them to The Impresario (located in Daggerfall, Davon's Watch, and Vulkhel Guard) to purchase your first Indrik Feather.
Once you've acquired your Indrik Feather for the Witches Festival event, you can keep on earning Event Tickets to get a head start on the next one. Get all four unique feathers, and you'll be able to summon the new mount!
SPOOKY NEW & RETURNING CROWN STORE ITEMS
Leading up to and during the event, you can find some ghastly items returning to the in-game Crown Store, this includes the Death Mask Sabre Cat mount and the Sinister Hollowjack Items furnishing pack.

A COTTAGE FIT FOR A COVEN
Conjure curses safely away from prying eyes with the Exorcised Coven Cottage home. When the event begins, this home will return to the in-game Crown Store for crowns. However, it will also be available for gold if you have the Witches Festival Achievement titled “An Unsparing Harvest,” which can be acquired by earning these other Witches Festival Achievements, first:
- Happy Work for Hollowjack
- Plunder Skull Enthusiast
- Pumpkin Pairs Well With Guts
- Reaper's Harvest
You can find the details for this Achievement in your in-game Journal under the Holiday section of your Achievements menu. Don't worry, if you've already picked up the prerequisite Achievements, you don't need to get them again.
