Narsis Dren is a self-styled archeologist, one whom specializes in raiding tombs. His incredible narcissism and giant-sized ego match with his bumbling incompetence; his true skill lies not in exploration, but in his progidous memory and storytelling skill.
During the tomb raiding quest, the Player Character has the choice to shove him down a well. Actually, this choice is strongly encouraged and totally forgivable: Narsis blames the tomb already having been looted on the player character and plans to omit Elfbetta from the narrative completely.
