NPC Guilds in the Elder Scrolls Online are faction-independent NPC associations and allow the player to access several special quests and skills, providing alternate progression. There are three guilds that are available with the base game, and two guilds offered as DLC content for the game.

 

 

Fighter's Guild

Fighter's Guild is an NPC association in The Elder Scrolls Online, it is a group of fighters who act as sell-swords with a strong code of honor in Tamriel, and features a questline revolving around the leadership of the guild and the uncovering of political plots.

How to Join the Fighter's Guild

You may join the Fighter's Guild after you have discovered some Lorebooks  (special books spread throughtout the world that shine blue with magical properties) and then travelling to the first zone Guildhall.

How to Rank up in the Fighter's Guild

To rank up in the Fighter's Guild, you must destroy Dark Anchors and kill Undead and Daedra. Improving your rank will grant you new titles, and will unlock further skills. Each Dark Anchor closed gives ?? Reputation, and each undead or daedra defeated gives ?? reputation.

How to Rank up in the Mage's Guild

To rank up in the Mage's guild, you must collect Lorebooks. Improving your rank will grant you new titles, and will unlock further skills. Each Lorebook found gives 5 Reputation, and completing a collection of lorebooks gives 20 reputation.

  • Circus of Cheerful Slaughter: "Sheogorath's book is supposed to lead me to the next trial, the "Circus of Cheerful Slaughter." Let's see what the Mad God has planned for me this time."
  • Chateau of the Ravenous Rodent: "I've been tasked with finding another book for the Mages Guild. Once again I need to return to the Shivering Isles, to a place called the Chateau of the Ravenous Rodent."
  • The Mad God's Bargain: "Valaste and Shalidor have finished analysis of Sheogorath's books. Now I need to help them take possession of Eyevea, the Mages Guild Sanctuary."

How to Join the Undaunted

You may join the Undaunted upon exiting your starting Isle and arriving to the first Main City of your Faction. Here, you may pick the quest One of the Undaunted. At level 45, you should return to your Allegiance's Main City to take and complete Taking the Undaunted Pledge, as it will unlock special high level dailies.

How to Rank up in the Undaunted

You will need to gain reputation with the Undaunted in order to Rank up. Reputation is gained by completing Dungeons Achievements in the Group & Veteran Dungeons and Trials. You will get 10 Reputation per achievement. For Pledges, you will get:

  • Bronze = 5 Rep
  • Silver = 10 Rep
  • Gold = 20 Rep

Undaunted Pledges

Undaunted Pledges are repeatable Group Dungeon quests in The Elder Scrolls Online. They are unlocked at level 45, and accessible through the Undaunted Enclave at the player's Alliance Capital. These special assignments allow the player to continue the quests from the regular dungeons, expanding and bringing them to an ultimate conclusion. You must first take the quest: Taking the Undaunted Pledge

 

Pledge Information

Pledges have undergone some major changes with the release of the One Tamriel update. In the past, there were 2 Daily quests: a Normal and a Veteran, and players were rewarded Bronze, Silver or Gold Keys for their participation. Now there are 3 Daily quests, and these can be run at any difficulty. Running them on Normal rewards 1 Pledge Key. Running them on Veteran rewards 1 Pledge Key and 1 Monster Mask of that Dungeon. Running them on Veteran *hard mode* rewards 2 Pledge Keys along with the Monster Mask of the Dungeon. This means players can potentially acquire 6 Keys a day, if they run each Pledge on Veteran and get the Challenge.

 *Veteran hard mode: right before the boss fight, there is usually a scroll on the ground (Scroll of Glorious Battle).... activating it will increase the difficulty.  These hard mode bosses also reward a collectible Undaunted bust of that boss for furnishing your home.

There are now 3 NPCs that give these quests instead of 2. They will give players a quest from the following pools and players can use their Pledge Keys to open one of 3 chests, granting a shoulder piece (as well as other loot) from that pool.

 

 As of Scalebreaker DLC in August 14th 2019, the NPCs below have a "store" for players to purchase sets from.

ESO Scalebreaker Update 23 Pledge Keys 640x423With the Scalebreaker Update, Undaunted Keys will now be located in the currency tab and no longer take up valuable inventory space. You can also now spend your keys directly via a store with the three pledge masters (Urgarlag Chief-bane, Glirion the Redbeard, Maj al-Ragath) in a number of ways which are as follows:

  • The mystery coffers now sold by each respective pledge master function similarly to the previous chest interactions. These provide a guaranteed monster set shoulder piece from among the dungeons associated with the pledges that NPC offers, along with a chance at a number of other rewards, for a single key.

  • The pledge masters also sell more specialized coffers at a cost of five keys each, and these will provide you with a guaranteed monster set shoulder piece from only two potential sources, allowing you to spend more keys to narrow the potential reward pool.

  • The monthly monster shoulder style pages will be available directly from the merchant for 50 keys each, in addition to continuing to be a rare drop from the mystery coffers, at the same rates as previously seen with the Undaunted chests. Thieves Guild

Thieves Guild is an NPC association in The Elder Scrolls Online, it is a group of thieves who are being hunted by the Iron Wheel for a high-stakes heist in Taneth that went horribly wrong. The Thieves Guild DLC features a questline involving stealing from the shadows, and recovering lost treasures to restore the guild's reputation. You can find the Thieves Guild in Abah's Landing located in the Hew's Bane. just south of Alik's Desert.

How to Join the Thieves Guild

You may join the Thieves Guild in 2 ways. The easy way to do this is to open your collections, go to DLC icon and accept the quest named "Partners in Crime".

The other way is to find an outlaw refuge, and speak to Quen once inside. She will also give you this same quest.

How to Rank up in the Thieves Guild

To rank up in the Thieves Guild, you must gain reputation. Doing the DLC-related quests gains you reputation. There are a total of 12 ranks of reputation.

Dark Brotherhood

Dark Brotherhood is one of the 4 major guilds in the Elder Scrolls Online. It is an infamous organization of highly trained assassins who carry out assassination contracts. They revere Sithis, the avatar of entropy and chaos, as well as the Night Mother, who is their spiritual leader. This mysterious organization is feared all over Tamriel. The Dark Brotherhood is also known to cooperate with the Thieves Guild for certain jobs. Any man or woman may join the Dark Brotherhood. Initiates must display the ability to kill mercilessly, without regret or sorrow. As a result, their ranks include vampires, werewolves, bandits, and mages. Jobs done for them often require stealth, to kill an enemy without being detected. If you would like to become a a hired assassin and carry out murder-for-hire contracts this guild is for you.

How to Join the Dark Brotherhood Guild

You don't find the Dark Brotherhood, they find you.. Their activities are performed out from the Gold Coast. You can go to any Outlaw's refuge to meet Amelie Crowe, or simply open your in-game collections Tab. You will be told to visit Anvil.

The Litany of Blood

Complete the first quests for the Dark Brotherhood and speak to Nevusa in the left side of the Sanctuary, where she will show you to a special assignment given by the Listener to those deemed worthy. These assignments are to to assassinate a number of people throughout all factions.
After killing a person, the pedestal shows their image.
Assassinating all targets completes Litany of Blood achievement, also unlocking the Cadaverous Assassin Polymorph and Executioner title.
