There is a glitch that apparently hasn’t been fixed. I found information since 2015 about this issue, and I’m currently experiencing it. I was distracted and walked out of Khaj Rawlith without grabbing the next quest in that line. When I made it outside the temple, I’d realized my mistake and immediately turned around. Except that the doorway to Khaj Rawlith was now grayed-out and unaccessible. I even tried logging out and turning the game off completely and trying again, but it didn’t work. I have no idea how to fix this and how to continue the main quest line. Extremely frustrating, to say the least, since I’ve spent the last several days in a row playing through the main quest line.
