There are types of currency that serve different purposes in The Elder Scrolls Online which can be obtained in various way during the game progress.
- Gold - the basic currency used to purchase items and repair equipment as well as fast traveling which can be acquired by killing monster, completing quests,etc.
- Alliance point - use to purchase siege equipment and PvP gear can be acquired by capturing keeps and resources, defending them and killing other players in Cyrodiil.
- Crowns - the store currency and are used to purchase items from the Crown Store. Cannot be acquired in game and must be purchased separately while subscribers will get a monthly allowance.
- Tel Var Stones - a new currency used in the Imperial City on numerous items and crafting materials, can only be found in the Imperial City by killing daedra, bosses and players.
