Buffs are special effects received during gameplay in Elder Scrolls Online. A character may only have one type of buff active at the time, so it is not possible to stack the buff status "Expedition" two times, for example. See Debuffs for a list of negative effects that may be applied to a player.

Buffs are obtained via skills cast by themsleves or other players, as an effect from sets, alliance war activities, or by ingesting potions. Players may see active buffs in their character screen.
